There is a wide variety of solutions available to address each property’s security needs. Of these solutions, modular products offer some of the most unique features in the security space. Modular security products offer a unique portable solution to secure your property entrances by adding a concrete barrier mount to secure the product in place, replacing a below grade solution.
Between our standard foundation and concrete barrier products, there are a few differences to consider before you purchase. Does permanence always equal higher security? What is the most cost-effective? What site preparation makes the most sense for your project? Below we highlight three myths surrounding modular security that may help you decide if temporary security products may be a more appropriate choice for your property.
MYTH #1: MODULAR PRODUCTS ARE NOT AS SECURE
Our concrete barrier mount products offer the same rating of security as their standard foundation counterparts. Our Drop Arm Gate, Swing Arm Gate, and Super Swing Gate all come with a concrete barrier mount option. Each of Innovo’s concrete barrier mount products are manufactured up to M30, M40, M50, and 20,000 lbs at 50 mph. The concrete barrier mount is secured with Kontek’s VK8M concrete blocks filled with 5,000 psi concrete, protecting the perimeter to the highest degree while forgoing the need for complex site preparation.
MYTH #2: SITE PREPARATION AND INSTALLATION IS HIGHLY INVOLVED
One of the benefits of modular security products is how comparatively simple the installation process is. These products with the standard foundation require foundation excavation before installation. The addition of concrete blocks eliminates the need for excavation, saving your installation time and money. Site preparation for any of our concrete barrier products requires minimal site preparation, with no excavation needed. Each modular product is simply placed using a forklift or crane with lift straps, and the product is ready to assemble.
MYTH #3: MODULAR SECURITY ISN’T WORTH THE COST
Our concrete barrier mount installation requires less time and money than the standard foundation products. Our concrete barrier mount cages are designed with lift hook slots, allowing product installation to be completed with either crane with lift hooks or a forklift. The minimal equipment needs allow the concrete barrier option to maintain a highly fortified entry while maintaining a reduced overall cost compared to the standard foundation products.
